Sebelumnya gw pernah menyebut di blog gw tentang life lessons. Menurut gw, beda dari life lessons dan life experinces adalah:

- lessons adalah sebuah goal, sebuah kesimpulan, sesuatu yang didapat dari pengalaman2.

- Experiences adalah proses untuk memperoleh sesuatu.

Ternyata mengumpulkan pengalaman lebih penting. Dari definisi gw tadi, you get lessons from experiences.

Gw juga ga ngerti knapa gw terpikirnya lessons dulu baru experiences. It might just flight of ideas.

Gw tersadarnya dari nonton film 21.

Jadi dari 3 film yg gw tonton dalam 2 hari ini, cuma 21 yang gw rasa worthed.

Yang pertama nonton Shutter. Nonton karena mau ngebandingin dengan versi aslinya. Klo gw kasih skor skala 1-10 = 6

Yang kedua nonton Sex and the City. Nonton karena mba nina. Nontonnya juga karena mau liat gmana dari serial TV jadi film bioskop. Lagi-lagi menurut gw nilainya juga 6.

Yang terakhir gw tonton, 21. sbenernya gw udah pengen banget nonton film ini karena Jim Sturgess-nya. Tapi setelah gw liat trailernya, ni film kayanya keren. Dan bener. I give 8,5 for this movie.

Why?

- jim sturgess keren, walau gw lebih suka dia dengan aksen britishnya daripada americannya.

- Ceritanya ga ketebak.

- I get lessons from this movie.

Somehow, it kinda motivates me now.

*spoiler alert*

there’s Benjamin Campbell (Jim Sturgess). He’s damn freaking genius (and handsome too). He’s got all the perfect score. He wants to study at Harvard Medical School. He’s already accepted. But he’s only problem is the damn tuition fee ($300K).

When he finds a way to get the money for his study, which is scholarship, the next problem is he doesn’t have impressive life experiences for his essay to submit the scholarship.

By his intelligent, he’s asked to join a team for playing blackjack in Vegas.

In the end, he has the impressive life experiences.

What motivates me?

- dia mahasiswa pintar, tapi dia harus kerja keras untuk mendapatkan uang untuk melanjutkan sekolahnya (I feel grateful because my parents still can cover my study and other expenses)

- yang akan membedakan kemampuan kita dengan yang lain adalah pengalaman hidup kita. Been through the bad times, even the worst time. You need to have impressive / dazzling life experiences if you want to be distinguishable, different, and extraordinary.

Bandingkan dengan gw sekarang. Situasi gw dan Ben Campbell, kita sama-sama 21thn (tahun ini gw akan 21, sekarang gw masih 20). Dan pengalaman hidup gw… datar2 aja. Ga ada yang spesial. Sementara dia udah melakukan banyak hal.

Gw ga tau ya, ini cerita aslinya gimana.. karena katanya film ini “inspired by true events”

Other morals of the story:

- Don’t let emotion control you. It won’t lead good things.

- Sometimes you have to change your choice/decision for other opportunities that might come because there’s a variable changes (I dunno what it is, I forgot the math).

Yea…
